Ten Ways to Optimize Your Diet and Enjoy Nutritous Food

Your diet is the single, most important thing as you try to be healthy and live an optimum life.
Please read that line again.
Food and drink are the fuel of life. The old adage you are what you eat is so true.
However, confusion and an overload of information abounds as you try to figure out which diet advice is the best. There is an absolute abundance of opinions as to how people should eat to be healthy, to lose weight, and to fight disease.
If you google healthy diet, or simply diet, you will get thousands of responses. There are hundreds of “experts” who will advise you. And they are convinced they are right.
Many of these programs and plans are actually fine and will work, however, some are unbalanced at best and dangerous in the long term at worst. You must use common sense and also do some of your own research.
Also, I cannot stress enough!, that you MUST listen to your own body. We are all different in subtle ways! What is good for one, may not be good for you.
If your body feels clean, strong, healthy, your mind is clear, your emotions are balanced most of the time, you can heal quickly from injury, you have the energy to last the entire day, your digestion is working properly, and you have a healthy body weight, then your diet is probably working very well for you. (or you are twenty! lol)
If you have chronic diseases or issues that continue to plague you, then I urge you to look first at your diet.
Please know that when I say diet I do not mean ‘cutting calories and restricting your food intake to try to lose weight’, I am simply referring to your daily and lifelong food intake.
Often we will change our current diet depending on our life circumstance, and how we are feeling at that point in our life. This is fine and normal. Our needs vary and change over the years.
